These studio portraits were undertaken by me when I first moved to Saugerties. I have always been interested in peoples work spaces, whether they be a carpenter, car mechanic, writer, artist, etc. It has always been a fascination to me that we are going through our days doing completely different things. And we use different tools every day and we work in completely different spaces. Art has been a fascination to me in that I don't understand it. I am enamered by it and I love looking at it, but I don't totally comprehend it. And maybe that is the magic of art. Maybe It works on the area of the mind that doesn't need words.Maybe artists are all just creating metaphors to interpret our world.
